Kira Roessler has never needed volume to make an impact. As the bassist who helped steer Black Flag through its strangest, most exploratory years, and later as one half of the two-bass duo dos with Mike Watt, she built a career on the idea that space is an instrument. Enigma, her second solo album, takes that idea about as far as it can go, and the results are quietly devastating.
