New Music Adds on THE DROP: Allison Strong, Chris Patrick, CRIMEAPPLE and More

The rotation just got refreshed. THE DROP, the daily new music show on Radio Garden State, has a fresh batch of tracks in play this week, and the range is wide: New Jersey singer-songwriters, punk, country, and hip hop with deep Garden State roots.

Allison Strong, "Fold For YOU"

A bilingual singer-songwriter and actor out of Union City, New Jersey. Strong is a NJ State Council on the Arts Music Fellow and a 2025 ASCAP Latin Beat Songwriting Grantee, and her music and story were featured in Diego Luna's documentary series BACK HOME, filmed in her family's native Colombia. Her new record, Weightless, arrives this summer.

Sean O'Malley, "Jersey Coast"

An Asbury Park artist bringing a shore-rooted track into the mix.

Georgia Owen, "Denim Dancing Diva"

"Georgia from Jersey," as she puts it. "Denim Dancing Diva" is her latest release.

Jack Kays, "Mirror"

A Cincinnati singer-songwriter who blends raw acoustic folk with cloud rap and emo catharsis. Kays has collaborated with Travis Barker and pulled in over 400 million streams worldwide. "Mirror" is brand new.

NONE SHALL SLEEP, "If Not Now"

A New Jersey four-piece who describe themselves as "a blaring soundtrack to a society in decay." Their EP Hope Dies at Dawn drew comparisons to Jawbreaker, Social Distortion, and Fugazi.

Samantha Spano, "Bye, Mama!"

Nicknamed "The Coastal Cowgirl," Spano has made country cool at the Jersey Shore. She released her first EP at thirteen and has since relocated to Nashville, where she works with BMI creating opportunities for young songwriters.

Chris Patrick, "Check Me"

An East Orange native who found his way through Lil Wayne and J. Cole, then won the R Factor Talent Show at Rider University and opened for Travis Scott on his college tour. Patrick signed to Def Jam in late 2024 and released Pray 4 Me in December.

CRIMEAPPLE and Michaelangeo, "Puppy Love"

Colombian-born, Hackensack-raised, and underground hip hop's MVP back in 2017. CRIMEAPPLE raps primarily in English but switches to Spanish and back with razor precision, and he's stayed independent despite major label interest.

Hoodrich Pablo Juan, "Too Phat"

Born in Newark and raised in Decatur, Georgia, he reps Atlanta down to his core. Hoodrich returned in late 2025 after a five-year prison stint and hasn't stopped recording since.

Edens, "Empty Details"

A Chicago indie rock quintet with members from Tiger Bones, Laureates, Reserver, and more. "Empty Details" is the lead single from their debut LP Static Fiction, out October 23. Fans of Sparklehorse, The Replacements, and Built to Spill will find plenty here.

Steve & Ginie Jackson, "Bloodshot Eyes"

One guitar, one mandolin, two voices playing folk songs and traveling the world. The Montreal-based acoustic duo released Colder Than The Sea on Thousand Islands Records.
