New Music Adds on THE DROP: the dt's, Burntmill Ghosts, Sleep In. and More
The rotation just got refreshed. THE DROP, the daily new music show on Radio Garden State, has a fresh batch of tracks in play this week. Heavy on Jersey this time around: Asbury Park power-pop, melodic punk, ska, indie emo, a debut pop record, and a comeback more than a decade in the making.

the dt's, "Bummer"
Dave Cacciatore and Tom Losito out of Asbury Park, multi-instrumentalists who harmonize like Simon & Garfunkel but write poppy, upbeat tunes closer to Fountains of Wayne and Weezer. "Bummer" is an amalgam of indie rock and power pop, with chunky guitars and roller rink organ from Joseph Santoro.
Burntmill Ghosts, "The Mirror"
New Jersey melodic punk, born from the ashes of The Fullers. Their debut LP Old Records came out on SBÄM and Double Helix. "The Mirror" is a new single from their upcoming second album, recorded with Pete Steinkopf of the Bouncing Souls at Little Eden Studios in Asbury Park.
51 Boneyard, "Lost In The Neon Graveyard"
Out of Tampa, Florida. "Lost In The Neon Graveyard" is track eight from their ten-song album Revisited.
Marina DeMaio, "You Could Be Gone"
A young pop artist out of Verona, NJ. "You Could Be Gone" comes off her debut record, Sweet Relief.
Biggah Kai, "In Route"
Bronx-born and now New Jersey-based, Biggah Kai is an MC, producer, vocalist and songwriter returning to music after a decade-plus away. Self-produced under his producer name Kai (Kyrell), "In Route" blends boom-bap-rooted East Coast rhythm with layered 808s, trap percussion, and hypnotic melodic movement. Lyrically it centers on direction, perseverance, and purpose through a God-fearing, real-life lens. An introduction for some, a reintroduction for others.
Lolux, "Repetitive Things"
An indie rock band out of Astoria, Queens. Back on THE DROP after "Sat Young" made the rotation.
Seven & Ben Hemberger, "Chasing Indigo"
Two 24-year-old artists out of Califon, NJ. Hunterdon County is not a place that turns up on new music lists often, which makes this one worth your attention.
The Brothers Union, "Another Remedy"
An alternative rock four-piece out of Central New Jersey built around brothers Mike and Sean O'Reilly, blending gritty guitars, melodic hooks, and emotionally direct songwriting. Fans of blink-182, Taking Back Sunday, and The Gaslight Anthem will find a lot to like.
Jokers Republic, "Don't Take Me For Granted"
New Jersey ska punk, carrying on a tradition this state has never let go of.
Sleep In., "Jason Bourne Again"
Haddon Heights indie emo, described by Noisey as giant hooks and mathy guitar parts. Their third LP, Tangled In The Vines, arrives via Choke Artist.
